Psalm 22:7 "All
they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake
the head"
We read here
that all that came by Jesus while he was hanging on the cross was laughing
and laughing at him! What was so funny? At this time, Jesus was bleeding
profusely and in extreme pain and with excruciating agony scorching through
his soul and body. He was literally pouring out his soul unto death.
All of this was on behalf of the very ones that were laughing and scorning
him. He had perfect love in a heart of humility and meekness. The Son
of God gave all that he could possibly give to mankind. He healed them,
He forgave them, He allowed sinful wicked, arrogant men spit on him and
mock him. He allowed self righteous religious leaders to criticise him
and call him the prince of demons and he allowed all the forces of hell
to slander, accuse, hate and condemn him for absolutely no legitimate
reason at all.
What did Jesus Christ get in return for a life completely given and poured
out for wicked undeserving sinners? Laughter, mocking and scorn!!! Beloved,
we are also called to bear HIS REPROACH!(Hebrews 13:13)
So, what was so funny about Jesus Christ hanging almost naked with lacerations
and blood pouring down his skin and saturated with incredible pain? I
believe what was so funny was the proud wicked heart of lucifer manifesting
in people and trying to convince all mankind that this whole idea of a
LOWLY LAMB LIFE of humility was utterly ridiculous and absurd! My brothers
and sisters, the sad fact is that many, many of God's own dear children
have believed the evil one's lie about the lowly sacrificial life of humility!!
God will not be mocked- The entire world and spiritual universe will behold
the truth that the LOWLY LAID DOWN LIFE OF THE LAMB is the greates revelation
of the very heart of God Himself and there is no other DEMONSTRATION of
true wisdom and strength and power than the power of meekness! One day
this LIFE will be revealed for all of its MAJESTIC WORTH and ETERNAL TRIUMPH!
Phil 2:7-11
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant,
and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became
obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which
is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven,
and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to
the glory of God the Father.Who is wise and who are foolish, beloved?
Jim Elliot said, "He is no fool that gives up what he can never keep
to gain what he can never lose." Which mindset is governing our life,
brothers and sisters? The life does not want to be made fun of and lose
it's honor in the sight of others? Or the life that doesn't care what
others may think as long as The ONE that governs all, thinks this dear
life is precious? Jesus only did and said that which pleased the Father.
Do I? Do you? May we come forth in this hour bearing his reproach!
