**NEW ARTICLE** 5-25-07
I have just traveled about 18,000 miles in the last five months in several
countries and in many
states. Many lives have found a new dimension of God's Presence. Many
lives have been released and healed of deep anger, rejection, hurt, grief
and much, much more as they came into the lovely and real Presence of
Christ. After finding such a radical change in them, they often wonder,
"how can I maintain this lovely Presence and transformation of heart
and
life?" This article is being written to answer this question.
The normal christian life is a life of Another and this Life has all
the characteristics of the very heart and mind of God. Every life must
bring forth fruit after its own kind and Jesus said, "every tree
is known by his own fruit." (Luke 6:44a) John said that he who has
the Son has the Life. (1 John 5:11,12). If I have the Son of God living
in me; then I have the Life and if I don't have the Son of God living
in me then I don't have the life of God. A good moral person can give
his body to be burned and sell all of his possessions to feed the poor
and still not have the Love of God in him. (1 Cor. 13:3)
Jesus spoke to a religious crowd and he said that they would not come
to Him that they might have this life and that God's love was not in them.
The main reason that the love of God was not in them was because they
were seeking to be honored and esteemed by men. (John 5:41-44) Pride greatly
desires to be esteemed and given recognition from others.
One of the most revealing and prominent characteristics of God's Love
is that, "it does not seek its own."
(1 Cor. 13:5) Pride deceives a person into wanting others to esteem them
and within a person's mind when this thought evolves it will block God's
love from flowing. Pride always seeks its own. Love will never seek its
own.
God's love will seek to give, expecting nothing in return and it fulfills
the law of God and leaves the person with great internal peace. (Luke
6:34-36) Psalm 119:165, Roma. 13:8-10)
When we shut our bowels of compassion, then we close the very funnel in
which the love of God flows through. John said how can God's love flow
through hearts who have closed their bowels of compassion? Compassion
basically means to suffer with. Selfishness will cause me to ignore the
sufferings of others, blame them for their wrongs done to ME and justify
myself concerning any hardness that might have gotten into my heart. Remember,
pride will always seek what is best for ITSELF and and love will always
deny and lose itself. The reason Jesus said that one must DENY self in
order to follow Him is because the substance of satan's heart; which is
pride, has saturated mankind's heart with selfishness and this is why
self must be denied. If a person does not deny themself, then they will
inevitably deny God the Right
to use them as one of His chosen vessels to pour Him SELF through to this
world. God will not mix His Pure self-less and Holy self with my impure
selfish and unholy self. Self must be denied in order to walk in the Master's
footsteps. (Luke (9:23, 14:25-33, John 12:24-26, Mat. 10:37-39, 16:24,
Mark 8:34)
God's inner Self is full of compassion, humility, love, meekness and
lowliness. Our inner self is full of pride, which is an inner drive to
be exalted above others. Therefore, if my heart attitude hurts others
(their feelings, their reputation, their family or their very body) it
doesn't affect me as long as my self is benefited in some way. In 1 Cor.
15:57, Paul said thanks be to God which is constantly giving us the victory
through our Lord Jesus Christ. Also the literal meaning of 2 Cor. 2:14
says, "Now thanks be to God, which is always causing us to triumph
in Christ and continuously making manifest or known the savour of his
knowledge by us in every place." The Holy Spirit is wanting us to
realize that the victory is constant in Christ and that there are flowing
constant rivers of life-giving waters (John 7:37-39), and lastly there
is a beautiful aroma or fragrance of the lovely Christ being released
through us everywhere we go. What is the savour that God said is flowing
through us everywhere we are going? Jesus said that this savour is so
important that if we lose it; then we are good for nothing. (Matt.5:1-13)
What is this savour that the salt must not lose? I believe this savour
is the beautiful fragrance of Jesus' heart of humility (Matt. 11:29) Right
after Jesus told his disciples what was the Blessed Life, he mentioned
the savour. It is the lowly heart of Christ that sees the true blessedness
of suffering for righteousness' sake. It is only the lowly lamb's heart
that releases a beautiful aroma into the nostrils of God. "The Life
of God has only one main essence and this is Victory and Triumph, therefore
if Christ is truly living His Life in me, then I am more than a conqueror
in all situations! (Rom. 8:37). He knows no other life, therefore, this
kind of living is only possible as one allows Jesus Himself to live his
very own life through them. But, we must remember that Jesus' life is
a lowly, meek, compassion filled life that flows out of his lowly heart.
Jesus said that we must learn this heart. The way that I learn his lowly
heart is by having hidden
areas of pride in my heart exposed by the Light of His Presence and with
each exposure of my hidden prides I am to humble myself and confess my
attitudes (defilement of spirit) and my actions (defilement of flesh).
This tremendous power that is in the blood of Christ is only for sinners.
(1 John 1:9)
The beautiful Life of Christ will continuously flow through
His body if this body will remove the
stones that are blocking the flow. I will mention 6 major stones that
tend to stop the victorious,
precious and pure life of Christ from flowing through us.
1) The stone of judgment:
This stone is the fruit of a person's judgment. All unrighteous judging
of others are invisible declarations to God that I am not like the one
I am judging. But, by the mere fact that I am judging them I am proving
that I am taking the credit to my own achievements and not God's grace.
When I judge another I am telling God that I am pleased with my own ability
to live righteously. This causes God to remove his grace from this area
of my life and the consequence is that I will fall. (Rom 2:1-3; Prov.
16:18, Matt 7:1-3) Unrighteous judgments come out of a heart that is lifted
up in pride.
2) The stone of offense.
This stone comes as a result of my refusal to give mercy to another person.
Whenever I don't allow another person to have mercy for whatever reason
I am stating in my heart that this person does not deserve to be forgiven.
Jesus said that there is no forgiveness for unforgiveness. All unforgiveness
leaves a person feeling hard on the inside towards the one they won't
forgive. Many individuals have been greatly blessed by ministers until
they judge them. Then, after there is hardness in the heart to the person
we judge, we can no longer see with the eyes of Christ. There is no ministry
for someone that I have judged in my heart. Wherever I can be offended
by anyone is an area in which I am seeking to be honored, and since that
one does not give me honor: it offends my pride..
3) The stone of grumbling and murmuring.
"Grudge not one against another brethren lest you be condemned; behold,
the judge is standeth before the door." (James 5:9) We murmur and
grumble in our hearts towards another believer, and the judge hears our
criticism and we stand condemned.. Phil 2:13,14 says that God is constantly
working His very own lowly Life into us until we murmur and rationalise
within our heart. The Lord is continuosly working his very own life into
us, but when we murmur or dispute (this word means to rationalise), we
stop the flow of God pouring His Life into us. Phil 2:13-14" For
it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:" (KJV)
4) The stone of unbelief.
Heb. 3:12 Take heed brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil
heart of unbelief in departing from the living God." Unbelief is
a direct attack against the truthfulness and character of God. This attitude
that refuses to believe the Word of God comes out of a hard heart.
5) The stone of the deceitful nature of sin
(Heb. 3:13) Sin will deceive any heart that is confident in itself to
overcome sin. We cannot overcome sin apart from Christ and we will turn
away from the living God when we enter into the Pride of self confidence.
(Heb. 3:12b)
6) A self righteous heart.
The last stone is the number one reason why we do not walk in victory
and reveal the lovely
Presence of Christ; The stone of a self righteous heart that refuses to
humble. Grace is for the
humble, but God resist the proud. (James 4:6) Forgiveness and cleansing
is for the sinner, not the healthy.
(1 Jn. 1:9), Jn. 9:41) When my heart feels hard for any reason I must
find where I failed, where I displeased God and I must take the blame
and take the place of the sinner. Light always will uncover; then the
Lord will forgive, cleanse and totally cover with His Presence and His
Glory. When sin entered, Adam and Eve knew that they were naked. They
never had any clothes on so it wasn't their bodies that were naked. They
were suddenly aware that they had lost something. This was the Glory of
their Maker. God's Glory will once again cover His creation when his creation
takes the place of the naked that need covering. Rev. 3: 17-19
Because thou sayest, I am rich and increased with goods, and have need
of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and
poor, and blind, and naked; I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in
the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest
be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint
thine eyes with eye salve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I
rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Beloved to walk with God requires that we become more and
more one with the very heart of God. This is the lowly heart of the Lamb.
This heart goes lower and lower into humility and it will destroy every
excuse that the wicked spirit of Pride gives to cover itself.. WE can
either be covered with the Glory of God's very own heart or we can be
covered with the deceitful nature of pride. True humility will release
the very fragrance of the beautiful Christ; His very Savour into this
world. May God richly bless you brothers and sisters as you commit to
humble yourselves and become one with the heart of the Lamb. The Lamb's
Wife is making herself ready now!
Love in Christ,
Brother Greg
